Waiterses’ first home Catherine King Waiters and Archie Waiters were married in 1934 and moved to this house. Ms. Waiters recalled how they furnished the house. Waiters's mother gave them a bed; Ms. Waiters's mother gave them two chairs and a wood stove that had three legs and a stack of bricks for the fourth. Great-grandmother Irene Charles gave them an old dresser made of gopherwood, and a shelf on the wall held their dishes. A large fireplace heated the house. (Photo 1970s) |
