A second yard boom, made by Ms. Waiters, was added to the hewn- timber cabins collection. The task of sweeping the yard was generally assigned to a child, and the smaller children spent a lot of their time practicing yard sweeping in imitation of the older children, so a good supply of yard brooms was important.
