tin top A table with a tin top was the ideal place to keep the water bucket. Without the tin top, a wooden table top would be apt to rot because water would frequently be spilled on it. There was usually a gourd for drinking either in the bucket, beside it, or hanging on the wall. Sometimes there was a washbasin. (Photo 1998) |
