Environmental Education Association of
South Carolina Awards Program

The EEASC sponsors several awards for teachers, students and others who make a significant contribution in the field of environmental education.

The association presents an annual Environmental Education Award at the Spring Meeting to an individual or organization for outstanding contributions in environmental education.

Teachers winning Conservation District Education Awards are invited to attend the Spring Meeting and receive a free membership in the association.

Our Association collaborates with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources to honor state recipients annually. These awardees, at both the elementary and secondary levels, each receive five-year honorary memberships in EEASC. In addition, they are invited to attend our annual spring meeting as our guest.

Student Awards are presented to winners in the Environmental Science division of the South Carolina Junior Academy of Science. In addition, our organization rewards outstanding achievement in environmental science to two junior scientists each year by providing full scholarships for a week at Camp Wildwood. Awardees were judged to have the best written or best oral presentation in the environmental science category at the annual meeting of the South Carolina Junior Academy of Science.

Teachers may apply to the EEASC for scholarships to attend college-credit environmental education workshops or courses offered by universities or colleges in South Carolina. The program provides tuition reimbursment upon successful completion of the workshop or course. Scholarships are awarded to qualified applicants on a first-come first-served basis and are supported by sustaining memberships in the association.
