Environmental Education Association
of South Carolina
Annual Conferences and Forums:
* EEASC holds an annual conference each
year in March. The conference moves around the state from year
to year so participants can learn about and experience South Carolina's
rich and varied resources first-hand.
* The Spring Meeting includes field trips,
workshops and informative sessions. It is usually held on a Friday
and Saturday during the second weekend in March, and costs are
kept to a minimum. This year, by popular demand, the conference
has been stretched to three days! These are affordable, enjoyable
and educational weekends that can be enjoyed by the entire family.
All are welcome.
The Spring 2006 Conference
will be held at Santee State Park in Orangeburg County on March
31 and April 1.
The Theme is Discovering
Connections to Krast Topography
Our Friday Night Keynote
Speaker will be Rudy Manke.
We are doing something new this year. Note that there are two
Friday morning field trips. Everyone may
participate in both field trips. The field trips will depart from
the Village Round at 10:00 A.M. and travel
to the Sink Hole Pond. Group A will follow the trail to the sink
hole. Group B will walk a trail to spot
Spring wildflowers, birds, butterflies, etc. After Group A has
toured the sink hole, Group B will take a
turn. At 12:30PM we will travel back to the Village Round for
lunch.
On Friday afternoon at 1:30 PM, we will travel to the pier by
the office to board the Fisheagle for a
tour of the lake. This will take about 2 hours. After the tour
you are on your own until 5:30PM. Arrive at
the Village Round to finish placing your bids on the silent auction
items.
We will have the Enviro-Swap
at 5:30 to 6:00PM. Space will be available for Exhibits. Call
Diane to reserve a spot: (803) 534-2409x.118.
Remember to bring items for the silent and live auctions. If you
would like to participate in the Enviro-
Swap bring an item to swap. Items vary from books, magazines,
pictures, skeletons or skulls, extra props
for lessons, packets of seeds, etc. The Banquet will begin at
6:30PM.
